Sergey Girshenko (11.05.1953)
National artist of Russia, since 2001 he has become as concertmaster of State Academic Symphonic Orchestra named after Svetlanov. In fact during his creative activity musician was a leader of the most well-known orchestras of Russia – the Big Theatre and St.-Petersburg Philharmonic society. Well known violinist-virtuoso, Sergey Girshenko studied in Moscow conservatory (teachers -David Ojstraha and Dmitry Tsyganov).
Violinist has appeared with outstanding musicians, as pianist Richter (who with during many years represented chamber programs, since 1977), viola player J.Bashmet, and violinist O.Kagan.
His soloist activity he has began in the best halls of Russia and abroad, cooperating with well known conductors, among which E.Svetlanov, M.Gorenshtejn, J.Simonov, A.Lazarev, G.Rozhdestvensky, J.Temirkanov, V.Ashkenazi, S.Ozava, etc. Sergey Girshenko was participated of largest musical festivals, including Boston in USA, Edinburgh and Cardiff-festival in Scotland, Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, etc. in 1989 Violinist was awarded of «Viotto d’Oro» premium (Italy).
S.Girshenko has proved himself as talented conductor. Under his management were acted: GASO of Russia in the Big Hall of conservatory, Deserved collective St.-Petersburg philharmonic society, and also a chamber orchestra «Virtuosoes Cichiliani» in cities of Italy. Except for concert activity, Sergey Girshenko has taught in Moscow conservatory, since 1986, and also he conducts a master-class in Germany, Italy, Spain and Brazil.
